Egyptian Museum of Turin
The oldest museum in the world dedicated exclusively to Egyptian culture. With more than 40,000 exhibits, including ancient tablets, human and animal mummies, funerary and everyday objects, papyri, statues and sphinxes, it is the sixth most visited museum in Italy. The museum offers the possibility to participate in thematic visits, admire temporary exhibitions and participate in visits and didactic workshops to deepen the knowledge that is preserved here. Several exhibition spaces and routes with a wide range of knowledge and experience. It is essential to visit the Silvia Curto Library, which houses interesting works and antique collections of great value.
Mole Antonelliana
The Mole Antonelliana is the architectural symbol of the city of Turin. It is located in the center, in Via Montebello, 20.
It was initially conceived as a synagogue, but was later acquired by the City Council to make a monument to National Unity. Since 2000, it has hosted the Museo Nazionale del Cinema (National Film Museum). Its name is due to the architect for which it was designed, Alessandro Antonelli. In 1863 he began the project and also its construction, which ended in 1889.
Royal Palace of Turin
The visit to royal complex of Turin is a museum tour that extends almost seamlessly for three kilometres over an exhibition area of thirty thousand square metres. The Royal Museums is a collective name that includes the Royal Palace, the Royal Gardens, the Royal Library and Armoury, the Sabauda Gallery, the Archaeological Museum, the Chiablese Rooms and the Chapel of the Holy Shroud.
Palazzo Madama y Casaforte degli Acaja
The Palazzo Madama e Casaforte degli Acaja is an architectural and historical complex located in the central square of the Castle in Turin. It is one of the "Residences of the royal house of Savoy" declared World Heritage by Unesco. The collections in its interior comprise some 70,000 works, of which 2,500 are on display, from various periods ranging from the Middle Ages to the Baroque. There are pictorial and sculptural works, minified codices, ceramics, porcelain and majolica, as well as ivories (especially of oriental origin), gold and silver jewelry, as well as furniture and fabrics.
Cathedral of Turin
The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist is the main Catholic church of Turin. Dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, the cathedral of Turin is famous for having annexed the chapel of the Shroud, work of Guarino Guarini, which guards the Shroud, a religious relic that many believe is the shroud of Jesus of Nazareth.
Royal Church of San Lorenzo
The church was built around a pre-existing chapel, still visible near the entrance, for the dukes of Savoy, designed by master architect Guarino Guarini. Its simple façade in pastel tones hides impressive baroque interiors, arranged in the shape of a Greek cross and lined with beautiful chapels.
